FOUR SIMPLE DELICIOUS CHRISTMAS DRINKS RECIPES

Another big holiday is coming, the best occasion of the year - Christmas. In addition with delicious dishes for family and friends gathering, we won’t forget the drinks, contributing to the meal more interesting and giving cozy atmosphere.

 

Here are a few drink recipes that will make you admired by everyone when you serve them this Christmas. There will be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic dishes, for everyone to enjoy, from children to adults. These drinks are not only for refreshing purpose only, but also for the meaning traditional drinks on this special Christmas Eve.

 

1.    Christmas punch

Provide your friends a holiday punch. It combines prosecco, sloe gin, apple juice, Jägermeister, and holiday clementine and ginger. With a little alcohol, this traditional drinks will slake the thirst of everyone.

 

 

Ingredients:

·       A bunch of red grapes

·       750ml Prosecco (or sparking wine)

·       1l Cloudy apple juice (or orange/ cranberry juice)

·       Ice

·       250ml Sloe gin (or any gin)

·       50ml Herbal liqueur

·       1 Ball stem ginger, finely sliced plus 2 tbsp of the syrup

·       3-4 Sprigs rosemary 

·       Clementine, finely sliced

 

Methods:

·       Arrange the grapes in the freezer for about 8 to 12 hours, or until frozen, the day before you plan to serve. Apple juice and prosecco should both be chilled.

·       When it's time to serve, put the frozen grapes and a good amount of ice in a sizable punch bowl (about 2-3 liters), then add the remaining ingredients. Gently blend by stirring, then serve. ideally sits for up to three hours before adding ice.

 

Prepare time: ~ 10 minutes (plus 8hrs freezing the fruits)

 

2.    Hot buttered rum

Giving a try on this drink recipe when round off dinner. The sweetness and various flavors of spiced and cinnamon beside the tastes nutty, warm, and slightly sweet of nutmeg will amaze you and your guests.


 

Ingredients:

·      1 tbsp soft light brown sugar  

·      1 tsp  ground cinnamon 

·      ½ tsp ground nutmeg 

·      100ml  dark rum

·      2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

·      2 cinnamon sticks, to serve

 

Methods:

·       In a small bowl, stir together the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the rum and melted butter in gradually while mixing.

·       Divide the mixture equally between two smaller high - temperature glasses. Pour 100 ml of boiling water over each and thoroughly stir.

·       Add a cinnamon stick as a garnish when serving.

 

Prepare time: ~ 5 minutes

 

3.    Non-alcoholic Christmas punch

Beside alcohol drinks, there are also lots of non-alcohol drinks with lovely flavor of various juices and fruits. Make this incredibly flexible Christmas punch for any festive occasion. It keeps well throughout the day and evening and tastes great with or without alcohol!



Ingredients:

·       Pears, sliced

·       Lemons, 1 sliced, 1 juiced

·       2 tbsp Caster sugar 

·       1 tsp Mixed spice

·       400ml White Grape juice

·       100-150ml white, dark or spiced Rum (or Vodka or Gin)

·       275ml  Ginger ale

·       500ml Sparkling water

·       Ice

·       Handful of Pomegrante seeds 

·       Rosemary sprigs, to serve

 

Methods:

·       Slices of pears, lemons, sugar, and mixed spices should be put to a large punch bowl or jug and set to rest for up to an hour.

·       Stir in the grape juice and lemon juice to help any remaining sugar dissolve. If using, add your preferred spirit and stir.

·       Add a few big handfuls of ice after adding the sparkling water and ginger ale. Add a few rosemary sprigs and pomegranate seeds to the dish.

 

Prepare time: ~ 10 minutes + 1hr infusing

 

4.    Gingerbread syrup

This simple syrup lends a festive flavor to drinks and sweets. It also be a lovely charming handcrafted gift for family and friends. It can be combined with other dishes including stir into warm apple juice, hot chocolate, or Prosecco or dizzle over ice-cream.

 

Ingredients:

·       300g golden caster sugar 

·       1 tbsp Ground ginger 

·       Cinnamon stick 

·       Edible gold glitter (optional)

To decorate

·       1 Cinnamon stick 

·       Ribbon

 

Methods:

·       Put 200ml of water, 200g of ground ginger, and golden caster sugar in a pot. Bring to a slow boil after adding the cinnamon stick. Stir in a little edible gold glitter, if desired, after simmering for 5 minutes to ensure that the sugar has dissolved. Pour into a cleaned 500 ml bottle.

·       If you'd like, you can add decoration by draping a cinnamon stick around the neck with a lovely ribbon. will last for a year at most.
