Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

Add the flour, powdered sugar, and salt to a food processor and pulse a couple times, until combined.

While the food processor is running on low speed, add the butter, a few pieces at a time.

Add the almond and vanilla extracts and pulse until the mixture looks like fine crumbs, then pulse a few more times until some of the crumbs start to clump together. Don’t overprocess; the dough should be somewhat crumbly.

Dump the dough into the prepared baking pan and press into an even layer. Prick the dough all over with a fork.

Bake until golden brown, 40–45 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes.
